Work Progresses at the Farm

Dear Devotees,
Hare Krishna!
A portion of the  inside and outside of the barn have been whitewashed and are almost ready to receive the milkers. Some work still needs to be done with clean up, both inside and out before the milking parlor becomes a reality.
Many thanks again to everyone who contributed to this effort!
The cows have now been fenced in a bit better with the wires hot once again so that they cannot trot all over the place and forage where they are not supposed to.
The calves appear to be very happy in the pasture and keep each other good company - they are never too far from each other.
Dhruva prabhu and M. Parijata are working feverishly to get the crops in the ground and much has been planted already. Among them tomatoes, basil, broccoli, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, and more that I cannot remember at the moment. The have an ingenious device for the tractor that helps with the planting. A wheel with spikes turns and makes a hole in the plastic, adds water and the person sitting on the back of the contraption adds the seedling. What a wonderful invention without which the planting process would be even more labor intensive.
Unfortunately the tractor did not run as fast as it should and the planting went slower than anticipated. However, help is on the way today - a neighboring Mennonite farmer will come over to fix the engine so that it can run at capacity.
Many thanks also to M. Jambavati and Satyavati dd, who have been helping in the greenhouse.
Damodara prabhu and I finished putting the baseboard on room # 7 yesterday and it's ready for occupancy again.
Everyone else at the farm is engaged in getting things ready for the upcoming retreat to be held over Memorial Day weekend.
Your servant, Ortrun
