Here is a short update of happenings at the farm.
Even though we were hit with a huge thunderstorm last Friday, nothing on the farm sustained any damage. The cows did not panic and although the calves were a bit worried, M Parijata was on hand to calm any fears they might have had. Even the 'old faithful' greenhouse thankfully withstood the wind and all the seedlings were safe and sound inside.
In their effort to produce organic food on the farm, Dhruva maharaja recently applied for organic certification. Just last week he received notice that 160 acres have been certified organic. Hare Krishna!
A number of shares for vegetables have been sold and the farm is in an agreement with the Tuscarora Growers Association to supply various veggies. Looks like the garden is off to a good start. Let us all pray that the weather is kind and does not hamper the efforts to grow wonderful produce.
Along with the organic certification, we will also be selling some of our surplus milk to a cooperative. In order to comply with the regulations, we have to whitewash the inside of the barn where the cows will be milked.
As always donations for this or any other upgrades that are being made at GN are always welcome.
The Bramacari ashram is in the final stages of being renovated and should be fully operational in the very near future. A new guest house is being built on the site of the furnace room, the furnace room that was, that is. Great strides are being made there as well. The roof is on and next comes electricity and the plumbing.
We are certainly in need of pujari as well as kitchen help and would like to send out a plea to come and serve Sri Sri Radha Damodara any time you can.
The cows are on the pasture and appeared to have a great time when I last saw them.

Some of the fences still need mending and there is quite a bit of clean-up left to do from the winter months.
At a recent community meeting the consensus was that great strides are being made at the farm. Everyone was happy that the heating plant was operating nicely during the winter and no one had to suffer from the cold. The prasadam hall remodel is nearing completion as well. All that needs to be finished is the floor.
