On 28th February, we observed Gaura Purnima here at the farm - an annual Festival marking the new year based on the Vedic calendar (lunar, not solar), as well as the Appearance Day of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His form known as Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is known as the "Golden Avatar" as well as the "Yuga Avatar" - The Lord Whom we worship in this yuga/age in time.
Festivals at Gita Nagari are a special time to serve more intensely as a collective community of devotees. This Festival was wonderful and ecstatic due to the eager and sweet services and co-operation of many devotees. Mother Yashoda and her family cooked a delicious feast - all the preps, with Mother Sri Vrndavana cooking 2 exciting savouries and Mother Lilakatha cooking the delicious sweet.
And the kitchen was spotless afterwards! Again Mother Yashoda is so complete in her service, along with her well trained daughters! Of course, credit goes to Haricakra Prabhu as well:).
Thank You to Shrawan and Shilpa Prabhus for allowing us to have the beautiful darshan of their merciful Sri Sri Nitai Saci-Suta, Whom we were all able to bathe. Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasunder were ecstatic and had Their full abhisheka during Their morning worship, as were our beautiful Lords Sri Sri Radha Damodara, Sri Sri Radha Kalachanji, Sri Lalita, Sri Visakha, Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani!
Thank you to all the kirtaneers: Mukunda and Team, Gita Nagari prabhu, Mother Vegavati, and others; also to Sukhada Prabhu for his enlivening class.
A huge Thank You to all the maha-prep cooks, especially the children - their offerings were both beautiful and devotional.
Thank you to the decor team for the attractive garlands and vases - here again, especially the young girls in our community.
Thank you to all our guests from State College, Harrisburg, Washington DC - you inspire us very much and we are grateful that you take the time and effort to offer your association to us in Gita Nagari (especially in the winter:)).
