Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna!
While Dhruva prabhu and Parijata dd along with Sankirtan and Vicrant prabhus and M Ortrun and Hemagaura were in Seven Springs, PA for the Mother Earth News Fair (Pictures Here ), a group of devotees from Pittsburgh came to Gita Nagari for a weekend retreat. Thankfully Vraja Lilla dd and Ekavira Pribhu were on hand to take care of the guest and make sure that they were well fed.

Hare Krishna! Work is underway at the barn to construct the new liquid and solid manure holding tanks. In fact, by the time I got there on Friday to take pix most of the underground work had already been accomplished. I just caught some of the heavy equipment still at the barn finishing up.

Gita Nagari has been the recipient of a number of government grants this year and last. You may remember that we appealed to you for donations to complete Phase 1 of the construction and you came through wonderfully! Thanks to all of you who gave generously so that we could fulfill the task.

Recently, I used my Flip camera (that I have owned for at least 2 years) for the second time. I always have initial fear of using new technology until I've had it in my possession for a while. At any rate, I took it to this year's Ratha Yatra and made a nice video of the procession.

Hare Krishna! From the weather to the parade to the entertainment to the food to the vendors, in short: Everything was perfect for this year's Country Ratha Yatra. We welcomed not only devotees but also folks from the surrounding area, many of whom had never been at Gita Nagari Farm before. 

Each visit to Gita Nagari brings new surprises and excitement. When I visited last Friday, I found a fellow working by the old store building. When first I saw what he was working on it looked like a giant ant hill with brick supports, but Bhakta Charlie told me that he was building a pizza oven! Imagine when next you come to Gita Nagari you might be able to cook your own pizza. The oven is modeled after rustic outdoor Italian ovens and will be fired with wood. 

Our new guest rooms were brimming with satisfied devotees during this year's Memorial Day Retreat held from May 27th through the 30th. This year we hosted 300 participants and with the new guest quarters as well as the new accommodations behind the temple, we were able to host a large portion of guests. 

Update on Children's Camp: As many of you know the Children's Camp at Gita Nagari is being held this year from Friday, June 17th to Sunday, June 19th. 

Come visit Gita Nagari and check out the newest additions to our community. Recently we acquired a miniature donkey - Bala, because he is so strong and protective - as well as two miniature horses. Bala can be ridden by children but the horses are still in training. 

 Visakha Devi Dasi’s latest book just arrived from the printers. It’s the inspiring story of her family’s move to rural British Columbia in search of the simplicity and harmony Krishna promises for His devotees in the Bhagavad-gita.
